Why Am I Here?
Hi! My name is Cathy Kaman Ryan and I live in Rochester, NY. 25 years ago, I gave birth to a 26-1/2 week old preemie baby girl named Kelly. She lived 5 days. At that time, our local hospital had a terrific NICU but no preemie clothes, blankets or burial outfits. My daughter was wrapped in a giant receiving blanket and died in my arms. She was buried in that blanket.

The Preemie Project Volunteers recently spent a Saturday afternoon with a group of eager young Girl Scouts. The Community Outreach Committee arranged for us to provide knitting lessons to a group of Girl Scouts and their mothers. Here Joni Lankin worked with a scout and her mother. The girls got the hang of it much quicker than you might expect for a group so young.
