Michigan Chapter donation made!
The spring donation has been made to the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. This was our very first donation to them, and the nurse manager was very pleased! Photos of donations can be found here
She was able to confirm the impressions I got when speaking on the telephone with her a few months ago—Henry Ford’s NICU rarely gets any babies over 7 pounds, so they would really prefer the smaller preemie sizes (up to 5 pounds) with matching booties. Any size blankets will be used.
When we donate to Providence Park, it is for their Special Care Nursery and they rarely get the teeny tiny babies, so they have requested hats in the 3-5 pound and larger sizes, and blankets as well.
My sincere apologies to the lady who inquired about the Robee shoes…can’t find our correspondence so will respond to you here; Henry Ford cannot use them. Perhaps a different charity?
Kathleen was not able to go to Henry Ford today (though I know she wanted to as her children were born there!) because her father is having surgery today, so if you would keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers I’m sure she would appreciate that!
And finally….don’t forget that our next donation will cover the summer months—maybe you’d like to make a patriotic themed item or two? Please mail to us by the end of May so that we can sort your contributions and get them to their respective hospitals. Thank you all for your hard work!
