Welcome New Bloggers-Introductions
Our group blog was recently opened to all TPP volunteers. Please if you’re interested in joining us! Over 15 volunteers signed up this week and were sent usernames and passwords. I am looking forward to reading their introductions and seeing what everyone is working on. To help get us rolling, here is my introduction.
As you know, I am the Founder and President of The Preemie Project. My love for knitting started my journey with this organization. Click here to read more about how TPP got started. I am so happy with how TPP has grown and feel privileged to work with so many wonderful people. Each day is special in our household as we typically receive a box of cute baby items. They are so fun to look at!
On a personal note, I am starting my second semester of nursing school next week. I LOVE nursing school and think of myself as quite the school nerd. It can’t be normal to be this excited about going to school, can it?! I learn something new and fascinating every day.
I also work part-time during school as a nursing assistant. This summer I found that I love working the evening shift. I am definitely not a morning person! School and work definitely keep me super busy these days. I am looking forward graduation in December 2010, but trying to remember to enjoy the ride.
I also have three cats. I am crazy about them and have no shame in showing it. (As people who have attended work group weekends have witnessed) I promise this is the first and the last cat picture you’ll see from me. (My boys: Toby, Oliver and Miller)
Now that you know a little more about me, I also have my latest TPP project to share. My favorite donation every year is our Pumpkin Patch Donation. I can’t get enough of these cute hats! Here’s my contribution thus far:
Yarn: Plymouth Dreambaby DK
Hat: Seamless Pumpkin Hat
Booties: Michelle Booties
This hat is knit in the round using the Magic Loop. After purchasing addi-turbo needles and learning the magic loop, I will never use double pointed needles again. The magic loop is much quicker! Plus I love my addi-turbo needles.
I just LOVE the thought of these sets on the babies at the UIHC! My mom, Linda, thinks they need leaves. What do you think? I think she may be right.
I hope that everyone has a nice weekend. I look forward to reading your blog introduction!

Linda Aker says:
The pumpkins are very cute. But, they would be infinitely cuter with leaves. I might have to make the leaves for you.
Love, Mom
