Governor’s Volunteer Award Acceptance
In 2008, The Preemie Project was awarded a Governor’s Volunteer Award from the State of Iowa under the “Group Award Category”. The award ceremony was postponed last summer due to the extensive flooding in the state. On October 17th Laura Aker (Founder), Andrea Knepper (Board Member), and Emily Thomas (volunteer) attended the award ceremony in Ottumwa, IA.
The ceremony included a short presentation followed by the awards. The awards were handed out by Lt. Governor, Patty Judge!!
