What are TPP Work Group Weekends?
For new volunteers, these weekends are spent sewing blankets for the babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC). Sewing skills are not necessary for participation! We’re proud to say that we average 200 finished blankets in one weekend.
What should I bring?
1. Sewing Supplies (If you own them already)-sewing machine, thread, scissors, pins, etc
2. Small snack to share
How can I help with preparations?
We need volunteers to pick up fabric, wash the fabric, and cut out and pin blankets. We will provide you with printed directions. Please contact
