2011 Work Group Weekend #3
July 16th and 17th
Clear Creek Amana Elementary
What are Work Group Weekends?
TPP Work Group Weekends take place four times per year. Volunteers gather to sew blankets and blanket sleepers for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Sewing skills are not necessary for participation and we have jobs for everyone! The UIHC needs ~1100 blankets and ~900 blankets sleepers each year. We need A LOT of help to make this weekend successful!!
Lessons for sewing the blankets and blanket sleepers will be provided. Novice seamstresses will be paired with those with more experience.
What should you bring?
1. Sewing supplies you already own-(sewing machine, serger, thread, scissors, pins, etc). TPP has some supplies available.
2. Small dish to share at potluck lunch. Sandwiches and beverages will be provided.
