Work Group Weekend
April 12-13, 2008
for location
11am-5pm
What are TPP Work Group Weekends?
For new volunteers, these weekends are spent sewing blankets for the babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC). Sewing skills are not necessary for participation! We’re proud to say that we average 200 finished blankets in one weekend. We need A LOT of sewers AND non-sewers to make these weekends successful.
What should I bring?
1. Sewing Supplies (If you own them already)-sewing machine, thread, scissors, pins, etc
2. Small snack to share
How can I help with preparations?
We need volunteers to pick up fabric, wash the fabric, and cut out and pin blankets. We will provide you with printed directions. Please contact Linda Aker for information
How can I sign up?
We are in need of volunteers to help out this weekend. for more information
What if I want to help but cannot attend?
We have fabric you can pick-up, cut, pin to be sewn and drop back off before the weekend. You can also sew the blankets in your home on your own time. Contact for information
We hope you will consider joining us in April!
