Work Group Weekend #1
January 16-17, 2010
Iowa City Public Library, Meeting Room A
Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm
What are TPP Work Group Weekends?
TPP Work Group Weekends take place four times per year. Volunteers gather to sew blankets and blanket sleepers for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Sewing skills are not necessary for participation and we have jobs for everyone! The UIHC needs ~1100 blankets and ~900 blankets sleepers each year. We need A LOT of help to make this weekend successful!!
Lessons for sewing the blankets and blanket sleepers will be provided. We work in pairs on the sleepers with a more experienced sewer doing the zippers and more difficult parts and the novice sewer doing the basic seams.
What should you bring?
1. Sewing Supplies (If you own them already)-sewing machine, serger, thread, scissors, pins, etc
2. Small dish to share at potluck lunch (Beverages are provided)
How can you sign up? What if you have questions?
What if you want to help but cannot attend?
