To our surprise, our daughter Geneva was born 6 weeks early on July 17, 2008. She weighed in at 6lbs 4.5oz, so was quite large for a preemie. Seeing her and all the other babies in the NICU was heartbreaking, but it was a comfort to know that The Preemie Project would be there for us. I have been a TPP volunteer for a few years now, but was very appreciative to be on the receiving end during that difficult time. I am happy to say Geneva didn’t fit in her adorable strawberry hat and booties for long because she has grown so much since she was born! At least we’ll be able to use the blankets for years to come. Thank you volunteers for your dedication to TPP. Those colorful hats, booties, and blankets can really brighten a day for families in the NICU.
