Important NOTE:  When making a set, make sure that the items in the set all fall within the same size category. Otherwise, the set will have to be split up. Thank you!

Hat and Bootie Measurements

The following are some specific hats measurements in each size category.

NOTICE: Do NOT stretch the hat when measuring.  Hat measurements are 1.0″-1.5″ smaller than the head circumference. The hats should be able to stretch at least 1.0″ – 1.5″.

Blankets for Infant Bereavement Program

The Preemie Project does NOT need blankets for hospitalized babies. The only blankets we need are those for our infant bereavement program

*Miscarriage blankets must be SOLID white or gender neutral light yellow or light green. Miscarriage blankets are used as a memento of the child that was lost. Please be sure the blanket is square so it will fold properly to fit in the package.

**Colors needed for less than 1  lb include SOLID white or pale shades of pink, green, yellow, blue

***The most needed color for blankets 1lb up to Full term is SOLID white.  We need lesser amounts of pale pink and pale blue.


Garment Measurements:

When measuring a garment, measure the chest circumference first; that will place you in the correct size range. Once you determine the size of the garment, make sure the rest of the measurements are within the same size range.

Cocoon Measurements :

Cocoons make a nice addition to a holiday/special donation hat.   Only make them as part of a costume for holiday donations. 

We DO NOT need cocoons for routine donations to NICUs or for bereavement donations.

These measurements are for cocoons that are intended to go up over the shoulders. Do NOT stretch the cocoon when you measure it.  But, cocoons must be very stretchy so it is easy to put on a tiny baby.

Diaper Cover Measurements:

The Preemie Project loves to donate diaper covers with holiday/special donation hats and booties. It makes a complete costume for the baby.  We do NOT need diaper covers for routine donation.

*Diaper covers should be able to fasten up to accommodate close to the lower end of the waist range. Also, it should be able to be fastened and stretch to achieve the upper end of the range.

**Diaper Cover does not need to be quite as long as the rise but should be able to stretch to that length if needed.
