Volunteer Measurement Guide

Important NOTE:  When making a set, make sure that the items in the set all fall within the same size category. Otherwise, the set will have to be split up. Thank you!

Hat Measurements

The following are some specific hats measurements in each size category.

NOTICE: Do NOT stretch hat when measuring.  Hat measurements are 1.0″-1.5″ smaller than the head circumference. The hats should stretch at least 1.0″ – 1.5″.  (See head measurements in the second chart.) If your hat does not stretch that much, you will need to make the hat a bit wider.

Cocoon Measurements :

Cocoons make a nice addition to a holiday/special donation hat.   Only make them as part of a costume for holiday donations.

We DO NOT need cocoons for routine donations to NICUs or for bereavement donations.

These measurements are for cocoons that are intended to go up over the shoulders. Do NOT stretch the cocoon when you measure it.  But, cocoons must be very stretchy so it is easy to put on a tiny baby.

*Diaper covers should be able to fasten up to accommodate close to the lower end of the waist range. Also, it should be able to be fastened and stretch to achieve the upper end of the range.

**Diaper Cover does not need to be quite as long as the rise but should be able to stretch to that length if needed.
